Overview

Reads. is built on a simple principle: your reading is your business. We don't operate our own servers. We don't have accounts. We don't track anything. The only data that ever leaves your device is anonymous subscription verification — and only if you choose to purchase Premium.

Quick facts:

What we don't collect

This is the most important part.

We don't collect:

We don't operate servers that store user data. The only data that leaves your device is described in the "Third parties" section below — and it is anonymous.

What stays on your device

The app stores the following on your device only — never transmitted to us or shared with anyone:

This data lives in:

Your device's automatic backup (iCloud or Google Drive) may include this data if you have backups enabled — that's a system feature, controlled by you in your device settings, and Reads. has no role in it.

Uninstalling Reads. deletes all of this immediately. No copy exists anywhere else.

Subscriptions

Reads. Premium is offered as:

You can manage, cancel, or request a refund through your Apple ID or Google account at any time. On iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. We do not handle billing directly — Apple and Google do.

Third parties

The only third parties that may process any data are:

1. Apple or Google (when you purchase Premium)

When you choose to subscribe to Reads. Premium, the transaction is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Reads. does not receive your name, email, Apple ID, Google account, or payment information. Apple or Google handle billing, refunds, and subscription management. Their privacy policies apply to that transaction:

2. RevenueCat (subscription verification)

Reads. uses RevenueCat — a third-party service — to verify Apple or Google purchase receipts and confirm that your premium access is valid. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, Apple ID, payment card information, the books you read, your highlights, or any other personal content. The anonymous identifier is generated locally on your device and is not connected to any other identifier we control.

3. Google Fonts (typography)

Reads. uses the Literata typeface — an open-source font designed for long-form reading — loaded via the google_fonts Flutter package. The first time you open the app, the font is downloaded from Google's servers. After that, it's cached locally and no further network requests are made for fonts.

This single download:

A future version of Reads. will offer an option to bundle the font with the app, eliminating this network request.

4. Nothing else

We do not use:

Children

Reads. has an age rating of 4+ (App Store) and is suitable for general audiences. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone — including children — because we don't collect personal data at all. The anonymous subscription identifier described above contains no information that could identify a child or anyone else. If you are a parent concerned about your child's privacy, the answer is simple: we have no personally identifiable data about your child to begin with, and your child has nothing to log into.

Your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and KVKK

Residents of the European Economic Area (GDPR), California (CCPA), Turkey (KVKK Law No. 6698), and similar regulated jurisdictions have rights to access, correct, port, or delete personal data held about them.

Reads. holds no personal data about you on any server we operate. There is nothing identifiable to access, correct, port, or delete on our side. The data on your device is yours — you can delete the app at any time to remove it. For the anonymous subscription identifier processed by RevenueCat, you may contact us using the email below to request its deletion.

International data transfers

The developer of Reads. is based in Turkey. The anonymous subscription metadata processed by RevenueCat may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where RevenueCat is incorporated. Apple and Google process payment data according to their own global privacy frameworks.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes. We will not add user tracking or new data collection without making the change extremely clear in advance.
